Collection of personal data when using our website
The Global Partnership on Drug Policies and Development web offering can be used without disclosing any personal information. Under no circumstances shall personal information be sold or otherwise transferred to third parties. Postal as well as e-mail addresses, which are provided during enquiries, are solely used for the correspondence.
Every time a user accesses GPDPD's website and every time a file is accessed, information about the activity is processed and stored in a temporary protocol file. Before it is stored, each data set is rendered anonymous by altering the IP address.
In the case of merely informative use of the website, i.e. if you do not register or provide us with information otherwise, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. If you wish to visit our website, we only collect the data that is technically necessary for us to display our website and to ensure its stability and security (legal basis is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 GDPR).
The following information is stored for each page you view and each file you download:
• Technical details of the browser used
• Anonymous IP address
• Date and time
• Page opened/name of the file downloaded
• Quantity of data transferred
• Notification of whether viewing or download was successful
When single pages are called up, so-called temporary cookies are used to facilitate navigation. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of the site visitor's Internet browser. These session cookies contain no personal data and expire after the end of the session or after the end of a user survey, which is usually conducted every two years. Techniques, such as Java applets or Active X controls, which make it possible to understand the access behavior of users are not used.
Use of Matomo (formerly Piwik)
This website uses the web analysis service Matomo to analyze and regularly improve the use of our website. With the statistics we can improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the use of Matomo is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
Notes on the objection: For this purpose, a cookie is stored on the device, which prevents the collection of user data when visiting the website. In order to object, the cookie must be placed on each device in use. In the case of using multiple browsers on one device (for example Internet Explorer, Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) it is necessary to store the cookie in every browser since the cookie is only stored in the respective browser. It should also be noted that the objection cookie is deleted once all cookies are being deleted and needs to be stored again.
This website uses Matomo with the extension "AnonymizeIP". As a result, IP addresses are processed in shortened form, which means that direct reference to persons is excluded. The IP address transmitted by Matomo from your browser will not be merged with other data collected by us.
The Matomo program is an open source project. Third-party privacy information is available at https://matomo.org/privacy-policy/.
You may choose not to have a unique web analytics cookie identification number assigned to your computer to avoid the aggregation and analysis of data collected on this website. To make that choice, please click below to receive an opt-out cookie.
Regular data erasure deadlines
Personal data is regularly erased when it is no longer needed for contractual purposes (for example for employment, subsidy, rental, sale or service contracts), if the data subject has not given any separate authorisation and if statutory data storage obligations and periods do not require longer periods of data storage.
Planned transfers of data to third countries
As a general principle, data will not be transferred to third countries. Exceptions are possible under exceptional legal circumstances.
The rights of the data subject
You are entitled to enquire about your personal data and its processing, to have the data corrected if necessary, and to request restriction of processing or the erasure of the data. The data will then be erased.
If you have any questions or complaints about this website, please contact the GIZ data protection officer (see contact information provided above). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the responsible data protection supervisory authority. The responsible authority in this case is the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI).
Responsible for data processing is the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
