Actualité

11.03.2019

The CNDApp enables users to track, in real time, what is happening at the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), to receive notifications on key events, resolutions and speakers, and to access UN agreed language on specific drug policy issues.

The annual conference including a two-day ministerial segment of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) takes places from March 14 to 22, 2019 in Vienna. The international community will discuss current developments on drug policies. For the second time the CND APP enables users to track, in real time, what is happening at the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), to receive notifications on key events, resolutions and speakers, and to access UN agreed language on specific drug policy issues. Particularly for small delegations, it is a benefit. The CND APP is available for download now.

Quick access to UN-agreed language

The app features a repository of resolutions and high-level documents agreed by international drug control authorities, and a Book of Authorities, a collection of relevant documents on key issues concerning drug policy. The database is easily searchable by keyword, document type, theme, date and issuing body.

Advantage for smaller delegation

The app provides valuable support for the negotiation processes during the CND, particularly for smaller delegations from countries of the Global South. These are often strongly affected by the problems of the global drug economy, but traditionally underrepresented in international debates. With just a single click, the CND app provides important information on relevant UN documents, and thus strengthens the negotiating positions.

Navigate the schedule

The Schedule section lists all events taking place during the CND, including the Plenary Session, the Committee of the Whole, side events and informal dialogues. Each event includes a description, time and location details.

Free Download now

The CND app is now available for download from the Apple or Android app stores. Alternatively, the app's functions can be accessed directly via the browser at http://cndapp.org/.

The CND App was developed by the International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC), as part of the Global Partnership on Drug Policies and Development (GPDPD), implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and under the political auspices of the Federal Drug Commissioner.
